High-Risk Love

Taking the chance to love someone who suffers from addiction is often not a choice, as they are almost always our family members or close friends. Sometimes, however, we do have a choice and go into it eyes wide open. This is a story about what happened when my son and I chose to take that chance, for love.

Donating Blood

Neeko's Beginning

When my son, Neeko, was first born, he wasn't producing his own platelets.  Thanks to six donor-platelet transfusions, his tiny life was saved.

This is the story of how I almost lost my infant son, how he was saved by anonymous donors, and the decision I made six years later to pay it forward--a decision that would forever enrich my life.

Wanted: Revenge

The expression, "Hell hath no fury like that of a woman scorned" could not be more true. Neither could this story.
